Texas Holdem Limit River

On the River we have seen the final community card. No more card will come and so we don't need to protect our hand anymore.

When the pot is big, the huge pot odds will normally provide even weaker hands a reason to fold.

So bluffing is only possible against one or two opponents.

Here we provide you some rules for the final betting round:

Rules

  • Don't fold a made hand on the River

For one more bet you should  never fold a made hand on the River.
Your hand may be good and you would not lose only a bet, but a whole pot.

  • Fold when it is clear that you are beaten

If someone bets in front of you and another player is raising you should consider
folding Top pairs with weak kickers. Especially when you think, that the original bettor will reraise again.

  • If you have a good hand, you should bet for value

These are the extra bets good players win. When the opponents have better hands, they
would have normally raised you on the Turn.
Now they will call with weaker hands because of the pot odds.
